Concluding the "Roma Cultural Caravan"

As we told you in a previous post, our project "We can do more Together" is coming fast to an end, an occasion through which we want to tell you more about our motivation behind the actions carried out in the last two years of the implementation.

What do you know about the Roma culture? This was the question our partners asked the students present at the Roma Cultural Caravan in the 20 localities where they arrived. When it comes to us, about the culture, values and traditions of our community, there is little talk in the public space. This motivated us to bring, through our project, this part of us to the communities of Botosani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău and Iași counties, where our partners talked about our history and our traditions.

After each session, in which the participants discussed the elements of Roma culture and history, they played films that illustrate the prejudices and stereotypes that, unfortunately, the members of our community often face. In addition to those presented and the discussions they took part in, the students and teachers had the opportunity to see for the first time the content of the Virtual Museum of Roma, a unique initiative in the world.

We take this opportunity to thank all the participants who were eager to learn more about us and we urge them to share the message of inclusion and diversity among their friends, colleagues and families!
