Debates and consultations are some of the pillars that underpin a democratic society and through which our voice can be heard, that is why the members of the local initiative groups from Crucea, Moțca, Pietriș and Zece Prăjini have taken the first steps to put the voice of the Roma on the agenda of the decision-makers.
After many activities and campaigns carried out together, training sessions and cultural caravans, we are fast approaching the end of our project, "We can do more together".On this occasion, we want to tell you more about two activities dear to us, which have proven to us that the message of inclusion and diversity can be spread in any context, namely the "Football Friendship Cup" and the campaigns of greening and planting of fruit trees in all 20 communities in the 5 counties where we have worked together with our partners.
In November, the school students from Moțca and Crucea, Iasi County, learned about the importance of cooperation and mutual understanding in achieving common goals, this time, creating a more environmentally friendly community.
On November 17th, the students of the "Costache Grigore Şuțu" Secondary School in Șuțești learned that only together they can create a safer, inclusive, but also more environmentally friendly future.
Through each action of raising aware over the diversity and multiculturalism in the mind of each participant, an idea is born that will develop with the person's feelings and thoughts, just like a planted seed that receives good care.
Our partners arrived yesterday , November 16th in the localities of Galbenu and Şuștești through "the Roma Cultural Caravan", an initiative part of the project "We can do more together".
On November 15th, students and teachers, as well as other members of the community from Însurăței, Viziru and Unirea had the opportunity to learn about the elements that underlie The Roma culture, traditions and customs through "the Roma Cultural Caravan".
There is little talk in the public space about us, about the culture, values and traditions of our community. This motivated us to bring, through the project "We can do more together", this part of us in the communities of Brăila County.
This summer we met up with 20 young Roma women to organize a mentoring session in the art of storytelling.The young women had the opportunity during the summer holidays to let themselves be inspired by their communities, and in the fall we met again with new forces, this time online, to put in practice everything we have learned.
During the weekend of November 5th – 6th, 30 people gathered in Buzău to learn how to become true representatives of their community and take part in the change.
