#WeCanDoMoreTogether so we started the registration for the training program addressed to Roma experts and leaders!

Buzău”, the Association of Roma Ursari from Dagâța, want to inform you about the training program for Roma experts and leaders addressed for a number of 75 people, nationwide.
The training program for Roma experts and leaders is carried out within the project “We can
do more together” which aims to support the empowerment of 2200 Roma at a national level, so they can learn how to actively contribute to solving community problems and make their voices heard. Through this program, along with our partners, we want to set up a group of Roma experts and leaders who can act to protect Roma rights and identity, representing Roma communities in relation to local public authorities or other relevant public or private entities.
The expected results of the project are:
- Empowering 20 Roma communities from 5 counties (Botoșani, Brașov, Brăila, Buzău and Iași)
through community facilitation and development;
- Training of 75 Roma experts and leaders at national level to increase their involvement
in making decisions targeting not only Roma communities but also other;
- Campaigns to promote Roma culture and identity addressed to both Roma (to better know
elements of their own identity and stimulate its assumption) as well as to the majority in order
to reduce stereotypes and prejudices caused by ignorance of the Roma group.
What is the training program?
We prepared four modules:
Module 1 – Respecting human rights;
Module 2 - Communication, public speaking, advocacy and negotiation techniques;
Module 3 - Roman identity and ethnic self-image;
Module 4 - Development of the contemporary Romani culture.
What would we like to find in you?
Willingness to participate in all the four courses;
Availability to traveling for the courses that will be held face to face;
Not to have participated previously in a similar course/program;
Assuming your Roma ethnicity;
To be in one of the following categories: Roma expert from one of the County Offices for Roma; Local expert on Roma issues within the Local Public Authorities; a Roma local councilor; School mediator; Health mediator; Member of non-governmental Roma organizations; Roma local leader.
What are the benefits of participating in the training program?
You will have the chance to acquire and develop skills in human rights, advocacy, negotiation, identity and Romani culture, but also develop relationships with other experts in the field or to interact with well-trained trainers or experts in this field of activity.
