166 years since the abolition of Roma slavery, in Brăila County

"Through this event we set out for the participants, regardless if they are teachers, students, parents or local leaders, to understand how important is to know the past… A nation who does not know and does not assume their history, for better or worse , is a nation without identity, without future…

Roma slavery was the greatest and longest tragedy of the Roma, we cannot neglect this, and we, the civil society, came to the support of schools with a series of activities and courses in Roma history, interculturality, parental education to try to fill the gap created by the lack of this information in the school curriculum or in the pedagogical training of teachers." (Daniel Caraivan, community facilitator, Brăila county)
