On February 20th, we mark 167 years since the end of enslavement of Roma in Wallachia, a day that reminds us of the stories, most of the times untold or unknown, of our Roma ancestors who lived in slavery, an occasion that gathered us at Casa Oprescu in Bucharest, where the launch of the first Virtual Museum of Roma Culture took place.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts of the event were the Romano-Kher National Center for Roma Culture and the Amare Rromentza Roma Center Association, and with us were also the partners from the local level<\/strong>, f\u0103r\u0103 de care aceast\u0103 ini\u021biativ\u0103 nu ar fi fost posibil\u0103, \u0219i anume: Asocia\u021bia Comunit\u0103\u021bilor Marginalizate, Boto\u0219ani, Asocia\u021bia Romilor din F\u0103g\u0103ra\u0219, Asocia\u021bia DANROM F\u0103urei, Asocia\u021bia Agen\u021bia de Dezvoltare Comunitar\u0103 Buz\u0103u \u0219i Asociatia Romilor Ursari din Dag\u00e2\u021ba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This launch is only the beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if it is virtual, the museum leads us in distant times in order to better understand the experiences and history of our ancestors, but also to celebrate our culture and community. Surely this museum is a pillar in the efforts to preserve our history and cultural elements for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
